Spending significant time with a new vehicle you begin to notice some odd things. I decided to make a short fun video about three of the oddest things I noticed after spending a week with the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

One neat thing GMs do (or at least used to do) is instead of having two scales on the speedo (mph and km/h) they just change the sweep of the needle when you set the cluster to metric. I haven’t seen anyone else do this so I assume GM still has a patent on it.

I don’t think it's a patent thing. My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica did that too.

It’s weird, I thought this would be an interesting video, but it wasn’t...sorry. My 19 LT 1500 days Auto on the dash when I go to auto mode...not AWD, but then again, I also have ‘analog’ gauges got the top 4, battery, gas, etc... You’re supposed to count the cup holders in the doors...if I didn’t, I’d only have 2 for 5 or 0 for 6 passengers lol not hating on you, sorry if it comes across this way, but this seemed like it was a stretch just to post an article.

I wonder why it’s not more common, then. Seems you’d save money not having to carry separate metric and US clusters.

Hey, pix that you tagged don’t show up. What are they of? How are these year trucks...over 2 different gens...lemons over auto/awd light, camera showing a gmc, and the amount of cup holders ? Haha doesn’t make sense... “hey GM! I don’t have enough cup holders for my passengers, take the truck back! Oh, and when I look at the front camera view, I forget what kind of truck I’m driving! Buy back my truck!” You probably drive a ford...amirite? Lol just kidding, but really curious about the lemon thing...

The AUTO mode has been a feature on GM vehicles for 20 years, and al most anyone who has had one has understood what it means. When selected, it automatically transfers power to the wheels that slip, so nothing new or odd. I agree with #2, seems strange. To me, the cupholder observation is weak at best, especially if you are arguing it’s only a GM thing. Flip-down armrests with cupholders have also been on GM vehicles (and other makes) for over 20 years, so I’m not sure why we’d find it odd.
